New Member Information

Dear Fellow Members:
Invite a friend to join!

The success of all clubs depends on both keeping and gaining members. The RMCC Membership Committee is calling upon all members who have joined RMCC in the past two years to help as recruiters. So what can you do?

You’ve told us how much you enjoy the friendliness of members, the open attitude, the challenge of play, and the great social life that come with membership in the Club. People you know would surely enjoy this mix as well, and we are therefore asking you to help attract new members by promoting the Club to any family members, friends, or colleagues who might be interested in trying the game.

Tell them about your own experiences and about the ease of finding a proper fit in the Club. There’s a league for every age and every level of skill – from complete novice to the person returning after a long absence. The Chicken League on Monday evenings and the Executive League on Fridays are particularly suitable for new curlers, but that’s just a start. As you know from your own experience, the Club offers leagues for seniors, adults, juniors, and students; as well, it offers many challenging and fun shorter events throughout the year. And of course we have our new Ice surface that plays consistently all season long and our new Heaters which make the playing environment comfortable despite the cold outside.

Tell them about all the opportunities to visit the Club, view the facilities, and meet other members, especially early in the season, even before play begins. Most particularly, invite them to the “Open House” to be held on Wednesday October 7th at 5:30 p.m. and to one of our curling clinics to be held at 12:00 a.m. (noon) on Saturday, October 17th and Saturday October 24th.

Someone shows interest? Simply phone or e-mail their names and coordinates to Tony Kalhok, Membership Chairman, 514-934-3269 / abkal@sympatico.ca. Tony will contact them, answer any additional questions, and facilitate their introduction to the Club.

We thank you for doing your best to add new faces to the Club. We look forward to seeing you with them at our first Club event in the fall.
